FIFA World Cup kicks off at Hilton Colombo

With the FIFA World Cup 2014 drawing closer to kick off, the Hilton Colombo presents the ‘Ultimate Soccer Sensation’ to football fans and those who want to be a part of this spectacular game. The Il Ponte/Poolside will be transformed into a soccer stadium from the 12 June to 13 July. The line up not only includes activities for Colombo’s sports lovers – there will also be something for everyone to enjoy. Patrons can watch the matches live on a super-huge video wall in addition to other monitors around the open air soccer field. There will be live music for entertainment and colourful Brazilian dance acts.

“The FIFA World Cup is the most anticipated sporting event in the world with billions glued to the television sets when the games are on and we are happy to make it a special event at the Hilton Colombo,” said the hotel’s General Manager Manesh Fernando. Executive Chef Daniel Leah and his kitchen team will prepare an extensive range of Brazilian delicacies for the occasion along with everyone’s favourites like hot dogs, burgers and fries!

Daily draws and competitions such as ‘Fan of the Evening’ and ‘Fan of the Series’ will give patrons the opportunity to win amazing prizes such as complimentary hotel vouchers, a stay in the Presidential Suite, restaurant meal vouchers, original 2014 world cup footballs, FIFA jerseys and FIFA Caps.
