Fiji to participate in Sri Lanka 7s

The Fiji 7s team will play in one international tournament before the kick off of the 2010/11 IRB World 7s Series in December.

Coach Iliesa Tanivula confirmed his side will play in the Sri Lanka 7s (November 28 and 29) a week before the Dubai 7s.

“It will be good to get a bit more game time under their belts, we’ve done this in the past and we’ve seen how helpful it’s been towards the contribution in the Dubai 7s,” Tanivula said.

Tanivula conducted a trial yesterday for his 32-member squad where he will select only 20 players for selection into the first leg of the Series.

“The players that do not make the 20-member squad are still in contention for selection,” Tanivula said.

Fiji lost out in the semi final in the 2009/10 IRB 7s Series at the Dubai leg.

The Dubai 7’s kicks off on December 4th. - Fijilive
