Undisputedly Sri Lanka’s sophisticated financial marketplace, genie by Dialog Axiata has come forth as the financial inclusion partner with the fifth edition of ‘Race the Pearl’, the 24-hour ultra-endurance bicycle race, which ran across the length of the island from Point Pedro in Jaffna to Point Dondra in Matara on 5 November 2022.
genie, which brings a world of financial convenience to its users’ fingertips is happy to be associated as a partner for ‘Race the Pearl’ empowered the 60 cyclist who competed in the 600Km (kilometers) ultra-endurance race.

Professional cyclists, three from France, two from the United Kingdom, one from the United States of America and five from Sri Lanka did compete for the top of the podium, while 50 cyclists partook on the relay style race from different legs of the 24-hour race.
Toby Read from the United Kingdom dominated the 24-hour solo and was adjudged as the winner, whilst Pippa Langan also from United Kingdom was adjudged as the best female rider. Kelani cycling won the best team’s award.
The international race is included as a qualifier for the upcoming RAMM (Race Across America), which covers over 4,800Km from the West Coast to the East Cost of the United States of America.
