George Stuarts Travels clinched the Orient Insurance Challenge trophy at the annual Cricket Fiesta of the Travel Agents Association of Sri Lanka (TAASL), a six-a-side softball cricket tournament held at the NCC grounds recently.
Twenty-four teams competed for the title during an exciting and fun-filled day for the travel agent fraternity.

Business and Leisure Ltd. emerged runners-up at the competition. Chaminda Jayasinghe from George Stuarts was adjudged Man of the Tournament and Nipuni Perera from George Stuarts was named the Woman of the Tournament.
The Best Batsman award went to Shalutha Puwasuru from Business and Leisure and Chaminda Jayasinghe from George Stuarts received the trophy for Best Bowler, while the Best Fielder accolade went to Remien Rozairo from Business and Leisure.
The awards were presented by Orient Insurance Chief Executive Officer Ainsley Alles.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Alles said: “Orient Insurance, in a short period of time, has made strides in many different directions and one such move is the launch of a new travel insurance product, ‘Travel Care’, which is now available through all travel agents and can also be purchased online at www.travelinsurance.lk.
He added that Orient Insurance is pleased to sponsor and be associated with such an event and hopes to make this an annual event as part of its long-term commitment to the Sri Lankan insurance and travel industry.
