Isuru Weerasinghe and Roshen Subash, the lucky winners of the Allianz Lanka football player selection, were treated to a visit with German Ambassador Dr. Morhard earlier this week and had the opportunity to share their football experiences and their personal stories with him.
Isuru from Central College in Badulla and Roshen from Holy Cross College in Kalutara will participate in the fifth Allianz Junior Football Camp in Munich, Germany, in August this year. During the week-long football camp the talented young players will train with coaches from the German premier league team FC Bayern Munich and they will surely further develop their football skills.
Ambassador Morhad thanked Allianz for providing this rare opportunity to the two teenagers, telling them: “I trust that you will have a wonderful time, make many new friends and return to Sri Lanka with new experiences and, of course, as unbeatable football players.”
Allianz Lanka Chief Executive Officer Surekha Alles said: “We have extended the Allianz goodwill to support sports in Sri Lanka. Our mission is to help improve people’s lives. The football camp in Munich is part of this commitment. We are happy that we were able to create this opportunity for two such talented young people.”
In June this year, young footballers Ranju Silva and Abdul Afrar attended the Allianz Asian Junior Football Camp held in Thailand. They returned home with happy memories and many more skills in football.
