Germany’s powerful Club 99 who’s who now golfing in town

One of the most exclusive German tourist groups to arrive here is now in town-to immerse in island’s Golf, among others!
“German – Lanka friendship is historic, and in recent times, B2B activities too are taking place. And do not miss our beaches or Sri Lankan sea food!” said an upbeat Rishad Bathiudeen, Minister of Industry and Commerce of Sri Lanka on 14 October eve in Negombo.
Minister Bathiudeen was speaking and mixing with the 58 strong German leisure delegation of ‘Club 99’ -the who’s who of German journalists, businessmen and investor community-at Goldi Sands luxury beach hotel in Negombo on the eve of 14 October.
The group, received by the Western Province Tourism Ministry, consists almost of the cream of top German retailers, journalists, businesspersons and investors, and is here to taste several Lankan golf courses (among others), before they depart on 17 October.
According to officials of Western Province Tourism Ministry, the powerful Club 99 group is facilitated to Sri Lanka by Kumara Rajapaksa, a German businessman of Lankan roots and his firm Kumara Reisen GmbH, in Cologne.
Among the German firms in the leisure team are Coca-Cola Erfrischungsgetranke AK Koln, Top Magazin Koln, Bayer AG, Prasident Porsche Club, Hotel, Hotel Radisson Blu Dortmund, OVS Computer Handel-GmBH, CKV Senatsschreiber, Pro Gast GmBH, Wolfgang HEckner GmBH & Co, Golfclub Schloss Miel GmBH, and Coldes Textilien GmBH Koln.
