Golf in Sri Lanka continues to be supported by UTE

Continuing in its journey towards promoting the sport of golf, United Tractors and Equipment (UTE) is sponsoring the UTE-CAT Challenge trophy and the Pam Fernando Challenge trophy for the fourth consecutive year. The two tournaments are held in conjunction with the Sri Lanka Open Golf Championship conducted by the Sri Lanka Golf Union, which will be held from 27 to 30 January at the Royal Colombo Golf Club. The UTE-CAT Challenge trophy for gentlemen will take place 27 and 28 January, while the Pam Fernando tournament for Ladies will be played on 29 and 30 January. “Sri Lankans can become world class golfers and UTE representing Caterpillar which is a world class manufacturer gives us an opportunity to showcase that quality through promoting golf in Sri Lanka,” explained UTE CEO Riyad Ismail. “Furthermore, we have been a longstanding supporter of Sri Lanka’s most prestigious golfing event – TheSri Lanka Open,” he added. Although the Sri Lanka Open is mainly for professional golfers, the UTE-CAT challenge trophy is for amateur golfers and provides them with an opportunity to play with the best. The Pam Fernando Trophy is awarded to the best lady amateur golfer.
