Hafiz Marikar resigns

The century-old Kandy Club’s Secretary Hafiz Marikar has tendered his resignation from the club, which will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on July 30 after many postponements. He has served in the committee in various positions for the last years and has been a member for the last 30 years.

Marikar, a livewire in the sporting circle in the Central Province, represented his alma mater in cricket, football and hockey later on represented the Kandy Sports Club. He was a Liaison Officer for Sri Lanka Cricket for many years.

After hanging up his boots he was appointed as the Team Manager of Kandy SC. He has served many positions in the up country club. (SJ)
