The Hameed Al Hussienie College Colombo Group of ’80 under 19 Inter School Invitation Football Tournament is to be held for the seventh consecutive year from 1 February to 16 February 2014 at the Sugathadasa Stadium, Colombo. Twenty schools will be participating at this tournament.
Ananda College, Al Hilal Central College Negombo, Andy Ollcott Maha Vidyalaya, Al Mubarak Central College Malwana, D.S. Senanayake College, De Mazenod College Kandana, Hameed Al Husseinie College, Hindu College, Holy Cross College Kalutara, Isipathana College, Lumbini College, Maris Stella College Negombo, Royal College, St. Peters College, St. Benedicts College, Thurstan College, T.B. Jayah Maha Vidyalaya, Wesley College, Zahira College Gampola and Zahira College Mawanella will battle it out in the tournament.
The champion team will receive the challenge trophy, champion trophy, medals and certificates while the runners up team will receive a trophy, medals and certificates with the third place team receiving a trophy, medals and certificate.
Best Goal Keeper, Highest Goal Scorer, Most Valuable Player and Most Popular Player of the tournament awards will also be given out.
The organising committee has decided to present the Most Popular Player of the Year award through its website - www.g80hahc.com with voting beginning from 1 February to 15 February 2014.
The winner of the tournament will receive a return air ticket to Malaysia. The sponsor of the tournament is New City Enterprises. Coordinator Tuan Dilshan presented the sponsorship cheque to the Principal of the school.
The Main Sponsor of this tournament The Soho House Managing Director Rahuman Ibrahim presented the sponsorship to Principal of the College Col. N.T. Nasumutheen at the press conference held at the College Hall recently.
President of the Group of ’80 Abdul Careem, Sri Lanka Schools Football Association Secretary Shanthi M. Jayasuriya and Media Spokesman Zulfikar Ahamed were also address at the media briefing.
