Harinda Fonseka wins Bronze at  World Wadokai Karate Do Tournament

Harinda Fonseka won the Bronze medal at the World Wadokai Karate Do Tournament held at Nagoya, Japan in the under 84kg Men’s Kumite Event. 

Japan won the Gold Medal followed by Northern Ireland winning the Silver medal and France winning the Bronze medal.

The national Wado Kai Karate team participated in the Wado Kai World Cup held in Japan on 15 and 16 August, in Nagoya, Japan. More than 50 countries participated in the event which is held every five years.

Sri Lanka Wado Kai Federation was started in 1989 under the guidance of Sensei E.L. Jayasiri P. Perera (Chief Representative and President). Four members who participated in the above event also passed the International Black Belt Examination in Japan. Tarik Jayasuriya (2nd Dan), Harinda Fonseka (1st Dan), Themiya Gaminitilaka (1st Dan), Jathurshan Pradeepkumar (1st Dan).
