November 14 and 15 were landmark days for the Hellibees Racing team as its riders and drivers dominated much of the competition at the SLARDAR- and AMRC-organised Pannala Circuit Meet 2015.

Each and every Hellibees Racing rider and driver secured either a win or a podium finish despite heavy rains at Pannala somewhat restricting performance on both days.

A full breakdown of the team’s spectacular showing at Pannala is as follows: Hellibees Racing rider Lathika Shamal won first place in both the 125cc and 250cc categories; Sangeeth Suriyage came in first in the 250cc Supermoto and third in the 450cc Supermoto, where Ned Daniel also placed second; and a brilliant result for 13-year old Hansika Abeysinghe, the only female rider at Pannala this year, who placed a close third in the 150cc category, even after she incurred an one-minute delay in starting due to a mechanical fault.

Additionally, Hellibees Racing rider Shoel Daniel came in first in the 600cc category, while also earning a second place finish in the 250cc race even after veering off the track due to heavy rain, with Reza Odayar later taking a second place win in the 1000cc category.

Excitingly, Pannala also saw Hellibees Racing drivers Chandima Goonaratne and Andrew Choksy secure their respective first and third place finishes in the Formula EFI category, with Chandima Goonaratne going on to be crowned the 2015 Formula EFI Champion.

Hellibees Racing’s success at Pannala in November 2015 somewhat mirrors its exemplary performance at last month’s Rotherham Circuit Meet in Katukurunda where Shoel Daniel earned the coveted 2015 UD Jinadasa Challenge Trophy for Best Rider, as well as first place finishes in the 250cc, 600cc and Open up-to-1,000cc categories (competing on his 600cc motorbike); while Reza Odayar came in third in two key races, the 1,000cc and the Open up-to-1,000cc; Lathika Shamal earned second in the 250cc and Ned Daniel won third in the Supermoto Open category.

Hellibees Racing also did really well at the same track, at Round 2 of the Katukurunda Circuit Meet 2015, when Shoel Daniel topped both the 600cc and 250cc categories, and Sangeeth Suriyage won the 250cc SuperMoto. Round 2 also saw Hellibees Racing first-timer Sheron Mishal placing second in the 125cc category, while Reza Odayar came in second in two over 800cc Open motorbike races and Ned Daniel placed third in the SuperMoto 450cc category.

With ‘Your Life Made Awesome’ as its call to action, Hellibees Racing was set up by motorbike racing enthusiast Murad Ismail, with its first appearance in May 2015 at Round 1 of the Katukurunda Circuit Meet 2015.

The team saw early success with Shoel Daniel placing first in the 250cc and 600cc category, while Sangeeth Suriyage came in second in 250cc SuperMoto.
