Hillwood College Kandy District Basketball Champions

Hillwood Girls’ College, Kandy beat Pushpadana Girl’s College 10/4 in the final of the Kandy District Five- A-Side Basketball which took place at the Gateway College, Kandy last week.

Hillwood College beat St. Anthony’s Convent 12/2 in the semi final to book their final berth. They beat Gateway 24/7, Kandy Girl’s High School 12/2, and Pushpadana 13-7 during the first round. Hillwoodian Ashini Ekanayaka and Kaveena Rajapaksha were adjudged the Most Valuable Player and the Best Defensive Player respectively.

This tournament was organised by the Gateway College, Kandy, Alumni Association. Hillwoddians were coached by A. Javahir while Champika Walalwala was the Teacher in Charge.
