Hirdaramani Group celebrates Women’s Day with group-wide netball tournament

The Hirdaramani Group celebrated Women’s Day 2014 with a group-wide netball tournament held on 9 March at the Department of Sports Development grounds. The event featured 22 teams with over 500 people in attendance to support their teams.
“Women’s Day each year is an opportunity for us to celebrate our female employees and express the level of support we have for them in their professional and personal development,” said Chamindra Dassanayake, Group Head of Human Resources. “The Netball event brought with it a great balance of healthy competition, teamwork and showcasing personal capabilities, while also being an event that everyone in the company could get behind and support.”
The tournament was won by the Hirdaramani Mercury Apparel Katunayake team, with Hirdaramani Industries Kahathuduwa and Hirdaramani Mercury Apparel Seethawaka taking the 1st and 2nd runners-up prizes respectively.
