HSBC Premier golfers head to HSBC WGC Champions Golf Tournament in Shanghai

The inaugural HSBC Premier Golf Tournament concluded on a very successful note at the Nuwara Eliya Golf course over the last weekend. This exclusive tournament which was hosted by HSBC for the first time for HSBC Premier golfers teed off at 7:30a.m. on Saturday, 28 September, 2013 and saw over 80 HSBC Premier golfers compete for the challenge trophy and a chance to witness the HSBC WGC Champions Golf Tournament, scheduled to take place in Shanghai in early November. Niloo Jayatilake was adjudged the overall HSBC Premier Challenge trophy winner with a score of 33 points on a better back 9. She was also declared the best golfer in the C Division, Senior and Ladies category and overall winner in the Ladies Division. Nimal Wettimuny became the overall winner in the A Division and best golfer in the A and B Division with a closely contended score of 32 points.   The winners were each presented with fully sponsored hospitality packages to witness the HSBC WGC Champions Tournament in Shanghai. Winning the inaugural HSBC Premier Golf  Tournament Niloo Jayatilake stated: “I consider myself very lucky to get an opportunity to witness the world’s best golfers in action at HSBC Championship hailed as ‘Asia’s Major’. I look forward to seeing Henrik Stenson, Phil Mickelson and Rory Mcllroy. It’s a dream come true!” Nimal Wettimuny who has participated and won at many golf tournaments stated: “The HSBC Premier Golf tournament was well organised both on and off the course.
