Huawei powers England cricket tour of Sri Lanka

Huawei the leading global smartphone maker, together with the support of Singer Sri Lanka PLC the country’s number one brand and Smartphone marketer, who is the exclusive national distributor for Huawei, came forth as an official sponsor for the England Cricket Tour in Sri Lanka which commenced on 26 November 2014. Representing Huawei Henry Liu – Head of Terminal was present at the official pre-match press briefing held at R. Premadasa Stadium. Huawei will also be giving away the match winner’s award post all matches to the winning captain throughout the series.

The seven match one day international series began yesterday at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo and will end on 16 December at the same grounds, with matches scheduled at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium, Sooriyawewa, Hambantota and Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. Huawei Device, Southeast Asia Region Managing Director Thomas Liu said, “As the number two smartphone vendor in Sri Lanka we are happy to partner the England Cricket tour in Sri Lanka, which will further showcase our commitment to Sri Lanka by supporting Sri Lanka’s most popular sport – Cricket.” Huawei as a leading international brand, has been supporting many sports with partnerships with Arsenal Football Club, AC Milan and the Royal Challengers Bangalore Cricket team in IPL to name a few. Huawei recently tied up with the first American sports club, Washington Redskins NFL team last month. The company has been supporting the Canberra Raider of the NRL since 2012.
