As the first luxury brand to invest in cricket, Hublot was Official Timekeeper of the last Cricket World Cup, and was visible on the scoreboards and throughout the VIP areas at all the grounds. Hublot also developed a watch for fans of cricket, the Classic Fusion Chrono cricket watch. Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe declared: “I would like to warmly congratulate Michael Clarke for his extraordinary win. We were very excited at Hublot to enter the world of cricket and it is nice to see that Michael Clarke has now joined the Hublot sportsmen Champions Club alongside Pelé, Usain Bolt, Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, Jose Mourinho, etc.” Hublot announced a special tribute to their Official Brand Ambassador for Australia and New Zealand, Michael Clarke, through a scholarship program with The Michael Clarke Cricket Academy. For two consecutive years, Hublot will support the Michael Clarke Cricket Academy through funding of its five-day live-in camp program, attended and overseen by Michael himself and a highly credentialed coaching staff at The Scots College in Bellevue Hill. “Ever since I entered the Australian cricket team at age 21, I have dreamt of giving back to the game I love by helping other young cricketers realise their full potential,” Michael Clarke said. “Working with Hublot on this new scholarship program is a way to give opportunity to the next generation of cricket champions. The academy is a ‘finishing school’ for young cricketers who want to take their game to the highest level.” With Hublot’s assistance, selected students are set to receive the best permanent coaching staff for their cricketing skills as well as nutritionists, physios and sports psychologists to help them with all aspects of their routine and preparation away from the field. They are also prepared with additional off-field skills such as public speaking, media training, and standards of behaviour expected of professional cricketers. Participants of the scholarship will be personally nominated by the team at the academy, in association with Cricket NSW. “The ultimate luxury is to share success. For Hublot, this is a way for us to give back and continue our association with the sport of cricket,” said Joel Ruiz, Brand Manager of Hublot Australia & New Zealand. “Hublot is about innovation and looking ahead to the future in all our endeavours. Here with the Academy, we are supporting the next generation of cricket champions in Australia.” Hublot’s scholarship program with The Michael Clarke Cricket Academy will commence this year, 2015. Tonight, Hublot and friends will gather at The Scots College to pay tribute to Michael Clarke for his exceptional success during the ICC 2015 and key moments in his career, before Clarke departs for the West Indies on tour.
