ICC and Emirates launch ‘flock to unlock’ #wt20 promotion

The International Cricket Council and Emirates, one of the fastest growing international airlines, on Saturday unveiled an innovative social media partnership for the ICC World Twenty20 2012 which encourages fans to use the official event hashtag #wt20 and offers the chance of winning exclusive prizes.

Photo: AFP/Getty Imagestickets and Emirates merchandise to Business Class flights to Dubai from any point of Emirates’ network of 126 destinations and Miles from Skywards, the airline’s frequent flyer program. The prizes will be unlocked simultaneously on the Emirates and ICC Facebook pages.

For the first prize to be unlocked, which is the chance to win two tickets to the final of the ICC World Twenty20 2012, fans across the globe will need to collectively use #wt20 10,000 times, while further prizes will be offered once further milestones are unlocked.

By following @cricketicc or visiting the social section of www.iccworldtwenty20.com, fans will be alerted to when the latest prize has been unlocked. Once the prize has been released, fans will then need to visit the official Emirates Facebook page - www.facebook.com/emirates - or the ICC Facebook page - www.facebook.com/crickteicc - to enter a prize draw.

The event hashtag, #wt20, is being promoted by the ICC through a variety of exciting channels, including branding on the outfield of all grounds, integration into the live global broadcast feed and on the big screen at the stadium.
