Sri Lanka Cricket in a statement said yesterday that more stakeholders will be consulted on the ICC’s controversial proposal but until finality is reached it will not issue any further comments.
“At an emergency meeting of the Sri Lanka Cricket Executive Committee held yesterday to discuss the ICC revised proposals, the views of the legal advisory committee, and the financial evaluations were taken into consideration and tabled,” SLC statement said.
“The views of the Executive Committee were expressed based on the above. It was also decided that SLC should engage further with the stakeholders and a meeting has been arranged for this purpose which will take place on 5th of February 2014,” SLC said.
“However the Executive committee was firmly of the view that all endeavors should be made to safe guard the current rights and privileges of Sri Lanka Cricket as a Full Member of the ICC. Since the issue is of a sensitive nature, no further comments will be made with regard to the aforesaid subject matter,” SLC statement added.
