Inaugural Royal Thomian Colts dinner dance on 6 July

For the first time in its 40-year-old history, the Royal Thomian Colts have organized a dinner dance for its members, their spouses and guests which will be held on 6 July 2012 at the Colombo Hilton.

Renowned bands and musicians such as the Gypsies, Heat, Rajitha of Misty fame, Judy and a host of other artists will provide unlimited entertainment from dusk to dawn. Prizes and gifts including return air tickets, complimentary hotel stays and gift vouchers await the lucky winners.

The Battle of the Blues which is over 130 years old is played by the two greatest schools in the country and could not be halted by any event, including the two world wars that ravaged the world in the last century. The match is looked forward to by both young and old, male and female and even those who have no connection with either school.

There are various groups of old boys of both Royal College and S. Thomas’ College who awaits the match with much vigour and plan ahead for those three magical days in March and one of the foremost of them all is the Royal Thomian Colts comprising of distinguished old boys from both schools – a group that came into being nearly 40 years ago, operating their own exclusive tent at the annual big match.Colts tent and all its social activities are organized by its committee comprising of old Royalists and old Thomians. The year 2012 committee consists of: Chandana Punchihewa (president), Sanjeeva Jayatileke (secretary), Madura Amarasinghe, Sanjay Wijemanne, Anuja Premaratne, Eraj Fernando, Kapila Wijayaratne, Nadeesha Senaratne, Shehan Perera and Praveen Abhayaratne.
