A 12-member volleyball team from the Indian Army, comprising one officer and eleven from other ranks, are visiting Sri Lanka from 25-29 April 2012, in connection with two friendly volleyball matches to be organized between the teams of the Indian Army and the Sri Lankan Army.
The first match is being held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium on 26 April 2012 and the second one at Pelmadulla on 28 April 2012.
This is the first time that volleyball matches are being organized between the teams of the Indian and the Sri Lankan Army, as part of the efforts on both sides to promote friendly exchanges, including in the field of sports. The team would also be touring Kandy and Sigiriya for familiarization and sight-seeing, during their visit.
