Ishraq Wahab driving a Subaru Impreza WRX 2000cc vehicle was in the lead on the completion of the third lap of the 8 lap Group SL-GT Motor Cars up to 3500cc the top race of the day when the race was stopped due to a crash which involved Charith Perera and Ushan Perera.
The stewards named Ishraq the winner and young Kushan Pieris who was hot on his tail as runner up. Kushan with two wins behind him was in the pole position at the start. Ace driver and reigning champion at the Craftman’s Autodrome Ashan Silva did not take part in the event.
Ishraq driving a Honda Civic 1498cc won the Motor Cars Group SL-S up to 1500cc event in the morning session from Glen Jayasekera and S. Priyashantha.
