Isipathana continues winning streak

Defending league champions Isipathana College continued their winning form in school rugby’s Under-20 Singer League, as they outclassed St. Anthony’s College Katugastota by 43 points (4 goals, 3 tries) to 35 points (1 goal, 5 tries, 1 penalty) at Havelock Park yesterday.

At halftime the winners led 24-13.

The Antonians came back strongly in the latter half but time ran out for them to overtake the Pathana lads.

The referee for the match was Dinka Peiris.

In another encounter Wesley came from behind to beat S. Thomas’ Mount Lavinia by 23 points (4 tries, 1 penalty) to 19 points (2 goals, 1 try) at Longden Place yesterday. This encounter was played for the Sir Oliver Goonatilake Trophy.

At halftime the Thomians led 19-13.

The Peterites ran out 36-5 winners against D.S. Senanayake in Welisara last weekend. The referee for the match was Sarath Madugalle.
