Joes win Father Basil Weeratunge trophy

St. Joseph’s 25 points

St. Peter’s 10 points

Peterites produced one of their worst performances this season when they lost the Father Basil Weeratunge Memorial Trophy to their traditional rivals Joes. Ball handling by the Bambalapitiya school was far below standard and the rugby displayed by them was one of the worst this season. Once again Sachith Silva, Gemunu Chethiya and Chathura Senenviratne produced quality rugby for the Darley Road school. Peterites heavily depended heavily on Selvaraja and Theekshan Dissanayake.

Second half rally take Anto through

St Anthony’s 34 points

Dharmaraja 24 points

Antonians made a strong come-back in the later half to pull off a dramatic win over the Rajans but still it might not be enough of either of the team to go through to the next round as top 4 teams. Most likely Antonians, Rajans and D S will be left out of the race.

At the short breather it was Rajans who led 24/17 but after the turn around Katugastota lads displayed quality rugby to register their second win this season.
