JAT Holdings has pledged its support towards the game of cricket by sponsoring S. Thomas’ College cricket for the third consecutive year.
As a proud alumnus at S. Thomas’ College, JAT Holdings Managing Director Aelian Gunawardene was delighted to continue his unstinted support for achieving excellence in the sporting arena of his alma mater.
It was with great pride and joy that Gunawardene signed the official MOU in the presence of the Warden of S. Thomas’ College, Rev. Fr. Marc Billimoria, Chairman of the Cricket Advisory Committee S. Thomas’ College Kapila Wijegunawardene and Director of Sales and Marketing JAT Holdings Surani Sahabandu on 6 November.
The sponsorship extends not merely to the first XI cricket team of S. Thomas’ College but to every single one of its cricket teams comprising of all age groups. JAT’s patronage will cover all Test matches (two day and three day included) and the one day encounters played by S. Thomas’ for the entirety of 2015/ 2016.
Sharing his thoughts on the partnership Gunawardene commented: “It has been an honour and privilege to lend support to my alma mater. JAT has continuously supported sports in Sri Lanka at both national and school levels as a sign of its continued commitment to developing sports, scouting and uplifting the local talent in Sri Lanka. The sport also offers us an opportunity to reach out to all of Mother Lanka as a truly indigenous and progressive company that has achieved a multitude of milestones over a brief span of time.”
