Jeewantha Kulatunga has been appointed as the coach of the Sri Lanka women’s team for a period of two years from 1 September 2013.
Sri Lanka Cricket said there were 18 applications in all and nine were shortlisted. After evaluation by a eminent panel including Vice President Mohan De Silva, Treasurer Nuski Mohamed, Shammi Silva, Coaching and Cricket Committee Chairman Ranjith Fernando and SLC Actg. CEO Ashley De Silva, Head of Coaching Jerome Jayaratne, Actg. HOCO Carlton Bernadus and based on their presentation and the viva, the above named was selected considering his cricketing background and how he has evolved in his short tenure in coaching.
