Kanrich Finance emerges Mercantile Division ‘F’ champs beating HSBC ‘B’

Kanrich Finance in its first-ever foray in the mercantile cricket league inflicted a resounding seven wicket defeat on HSBC ‘B’ in the AVI-MCA Division ‘F’ final at the MCA ground on Saturday to emerge 2013 league champions.

Batting first, HSBC struggled to defend its wickets and was bowled out for just 130 runs with Alankara Asanka causing most of the damage capturing five wickets for 12 runs.

Kanrich Finance in reply raced to a seven-wicket win with four overs to spare and Oshada Fernando led the charge with an unbeaten 53 runs.

Match referee and adjudicator A.J. Samarasekera named Kanrich Finance’s Alankara Asanka as the man of the final for his all round performance with the ball and his 24 run contribution in Kanrich Finance’s chase down of the score set for them by the HSBC batters.

Kanrich was captained by Mahela Wijayalath with Pradeep Samarakoon as his deputy.
