Kandy Sports Club is to contract its fourth overseas player, a Kenyan Sevens specialist, Oscar Ouma. Presently the final part of the negotiations are taking place.
If successful, the Kenyan player who is 25 years could play as a forward, flanker or winger, having vast experience in the shorter version of the game for the Kenyan outfit, who are in the top 15 in the world at present. He will be in Kandy with the approval of Kenyan Rugby Union in time to start the inter club rugby season.
The Nakuru RFC player started rugby at Kijabe High School. He then played for the Kenya Under 20 team at the 2009 IRB (International Rugby Board) Junior World cup before joining Nakuru’s senior team. He has been a regular member of the IRB Sevens team of Kenya for a long time.
