Kingswood College scored a 44-run win over their traditional rivals Dharmaraja College in their limited-over encounter played at the Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium yesterday.
The Rajans won the toss and put the visitors into bat. Kingswood, who at one stage were in trouble at 111 for 5, were rescued by a superb sixth-wicket partnership between Vimukthi Wijesiriwardena (69) and Yasod Kavinda (76) off 103 runs. Yasod scored his runs from only 72 balls with the help of nine boundaries and two huge sixes while Vimukthi, who was in cracking form, scored his runs off 65 balls with the help of five boundaries and six heaves over the ropes.
