The 125th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Kalutara Town Club was held recently at the club hall, where Deepal V. Perera was re-elected as the President to lead the club for another year by its members.
Founded in 1888 by British planters, KTC is one of the oldest cricket clubs in the country, and will be celebrating its 125th anniversary this year. In 1938 the club went in to history books by wining the first ever inter club tournament better known as Daily News Trophy under the leadership of Sir Ceyril De Soyza.
The Kalutara Town Club officials of 2013/14 include: President Deepal V. Perera, Vice Presidents Colin Silva, Dixon Punchihewa, Pinsith Perera, Secretary Wasantha Ariyawickrama, Assistant Secretary KingslyDodangoda, Treasurer Gaya Gunathilaka, Social Secretary Ravindra Vithanage, Sports Secretary Dilip Chaminda and Bar Secretary Wills Perera.
The Committee Members are Percy Abeysekera, Lyn Gunawardena, Udeni Dayaratne, Kinsula Liayanage and PalithaJayaneththi.
