Land Rover’s racing Defender continues to power its way to victory on race tracks in Sri Lanka, and notched up its fourth win in as many months at the Gunners Supercross at Minneriya on 10 July.

Modified for racing by Frontier Automotive, the sole representative for Land Rover in Sri Lanka, the 2.4 litre diesel driven by Lieutenant Colonel Duminda Jayasinghe of the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers took first place in the event for Trucks & Jeeps up to 5500cc Turbo, and came second in the Open event for Trucks and Jeeps.

In April this year, the racing Defender won the events for Diesel Trucks & Jeeps up to 5500 cc turbo, and for Jeeps & Trucks Open class, at the Foxhill Supercross at Diyathalawa. These wins were followed by first place at the event for diesel off-roaders at the Cavalry Supercross in Pangolla, Kurunegala.

The Racing Defender has propelled Lt. Colonel Jayasinghe to a spate of victories. Gunners Supercross was his third win in this vehicle at two meets.

The racing Defender was built in association with Twisted Performance, UK.
