Lanka IOC PLC, Sri Lanka’s largest listed company and the marketer of petroleum fuels and lubricants has entered into a partnership with Sri Lanka Cricket as the ‘Official Lubricant Partner and A-Team’ sponsor for the next three years.
LIOC Managing Director Shyam Bohra said: ‘If there is any one thing that binds Sri Lanka as a nation, then surely, it is cricket! A gentlemen’s sport which everyone in the country passionately follows, played as a team which everyone treasures. Sri Lanka Cricket is undoubtedly one of the country’s most valuable assets. We are indeed proud to be associated with Sri Lanka Cricket and are confident that through the sponsorship of the ‘A-Team’ will emerge Sri Lanka’s sensation to the world of cricket in the future.’
The Sponsorship and patronage extended by Lanka IOC towards Sri Lanka Cricket stands testimony to the trust and faith the company places in the future shining stars of National Cricket Team. The sponsorship by Lanka IOC speaks volumes for the continued commitment by the company to further its support towards the development of Sports in Sri Lanka.
Lanka IOC PLC’s partnership with Sri Lanka Cricket as the ‘Official Lubricant Partner and A-Team’ sponsor for the next three years was marked with a ceremony held at the Taj Hotel yesterday. In terms of the sponsorship agreement, during the contract period Lanka IOC secures the exclusive right as the "Official Lubricant Partner and ‘A’ Team Sponsor of Sri Lanka Cricket". Lanka IOC PLC guided by the principle of bridging diversity is committed to encouraging and developing sports in Sri Lanka at the national level. As the most popular sport in the country, Cricket transcends the whole of society and the nation, which reflects Lanka IOC way of connecting with Sri Lankans through accessibility and availability of world class lubricants and branded fuels across the island.
This is not the first time Lanka IOC has come forward to extend their support to Sri Lanka Cricket. They had also partnered with two cricketing icons spin wizard Muthiah Muralitharan and spin sensation Ajantha Mendis as Brand Ambassadors of Lanka IOC.
