Linda Itunu to coach Sri Lanka Women’s at rugby

New Zealand Women’s (Black Ferns) player, Linda Itunu took over the coaching stint with the Sri Lanka women’s Rugby Team. 

Linda made her debut in international rugby at the age of 18 years for the Black Ferns against the World XV. The forward was a member of New Zealand’s 2006, 2010 and 2014 World Cup squads and was also a part of the 2013 World Cup Sevens squad. In 2013 New Zealand women’s became champions. Currently she is injured and her commitment with the Sri Lankan Women’s team is till the end of this year.

The Sri Lanka Women’s Sevens Team finished last at the Asian Sevens series three events last year and were demoted to Division II. They will need to win this segment in order to get qualified for the Top 6 in Asia. Sri Lanka will lock horns with Guam, India, Nepal, South Korea, and Indonesia on 20 and 21 February in India.
