LIS Wattala win U-19 championship for 8th time at Inter-International Schools Cricket Tournament 

Defending champions Lyceum International School, Wattala retained the R.I.T. Alles Memorial Trophy for the eighth year, beating Lyceum International School, Nugegoda at the Inter-International Schools Cricket Tournament which concluded recently at Shalika Grounds in Colombo.

The tournament began on 5 July. Winning the toss, Lyceum International School, Wattala made 265 runs in 40 overs, with Hasitha Gunasiri scoring 53 and Kavindu Rajakaruna notching up 45.

In reply Lyceum International School, Nugegoda were bowled out for 191 runs in 34.3 overs. Pasindu Rajapaksha stuck 56 runs and Akalanka Senevirathne hit 35.

In the bowling department for Lyceum Wattala, Jeevithan Mageshwaran recorded figures of 4 for 30, Imantha Fernando finished with 2 for 18 and Chandira Yasaswin bagged 2 for 36.The best bowler of the tournament was Imantha Fernando from Lyceum International School, Wattala.
