Lowe LDB triumphs at Cricads

Lowe LDB emerged triumphant at ‘Cricads’ the inter-advertising agency cricket tournament which was presented for the second consecutive year by TV Derana and FM Derana. Twenty four of Sri Lanka’s top advertising agency teams vied with each other for victory at the P. Saravanamuttu Grounds on Saturday 1st October.

Lowe LDB remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, thrice winning without the loss of any wickets. One of the highlights of the tournament was the agency’s second round victory, in which the opposing team was completely bowled out for just 7 runs.

The Lowe team comprised Andrew Ebell (Captain), Jude Jayaprekash (Vice Captain), Charith Seneviratne, Stephan De Silva, Imran Mohideen, Famil Izzeth, Nishantha Perera and Sashini Gomez

Lowe LDB also virtually swept the boards at the tournament, winning all but one of the special awards. Lowe’s Captain Andrew Ebell was adjudged Man of the Final, Charith Seneviratne won Best Batsman & Fielder, Stephan De Silva was awarded Best Bowler, with Sashini Gomez’s award for Best Female Player bringing the special awards tally to an impressive four. Player of the Tournament was Roy Jayapregash from Grant McCann Erickson, who were tournament runners up.

The theme for the tournament was ‘Tribal Rumble’ which inspired a host of colourful tribal costumes, exciting tribal themed games and fun filled activities for admen and women and their families. With prizes awarded for the best haka and tribal decor, among others.
