Loyola College Under 19 team vs. past cricketers friendly encounter tomorrow

The Senior Cricket Association Loyola College Negombo has taken steps to organise a friendly cricket encounter with past cricketers of Loyola College in achieving the following main goals.
To promote cricket among the college students
To raise the standards of college cricket
To make strong ties with past cricketers
To recognise talents and appreciate the cricketers of both present and past
This is the story in brief of Loyola College Negombo. Cricket started in 2000 under the guidance of Rector Principal Rev. Fr. Trevor Martin. From the inception under 13 and 15 cricket were able to produce good cricketers. At the same time during that period the school won many championships in the Gampaha District and All Island.
Loyola College produced good cricketers, namely Hansana Fernando, Mithuna Fernando, Anjuna Perera, Sharmal Fernando and Janith Fernando.
Loyola College in Negombo is a school which has a heritage of a great history in the cricket field throughout 15 years. Gaining the champ position in the Gampaha District in 2006, all island championship in 2006 and runners-up of the Astra All Island in 2007 were great triumphs of the Loyolians.
Those heroes aim to increase aspirations and dedication of the new team of Loyolians and for the future of the school. The 1st Eleven and cricket team of past pupils who made such a remarkable history have organised a one day cricket match to demonstrate their ability again.
The cricket match will be played at Kadirana Cricket Stadium on 3 May from 9 a.m. onwards with 1,000 students in attendance with their parents and old boys.
This event is organised by Rev. Fr. Rector Ranjith Adradee and Rev. Fr. Indunil with the support of past cricketers.
The event is being sponsored by Elephant House Ltd., Commercial Bank of Ceylon Wennappuwa branch and other well-wishers.
