Lyceum Nugegoda holds seventh interschool under-15 Scrabble Championships

THE 7th annual inter schools under 15 scrabble championships hosted by Lyceum International Nugegoda was held on 30th October in their premises.

Ninety players from 15 schools participated in this four game competition.

 Last year’s champs – Museaus College Colombo thwarted strong opposition from Lyceum Wattala and three times winners S. Thomas College Mt. Lavinia to emerge victorious again, with LIS(W) & STC 1st and 2nd runner sup followed by DSS Colombo, Maliyadeva Girls Kurunegala and Lyceum Nugegoda 4th, 5th and 6th respectively.

Shannon Constantine of LIS(N) became the Most Outstanding Player winning all four games with Sasika Jayasuriya of STC (Mt.L) 2nd best. Mr Sam Chandrasena, Director Sports (LIS.N) was the Adjudicator whilst Mr K. Kulatunga, Treasurer Senior Citizens Association & reported scrabbler was the Officiating Judge. Mrs Kumari Greror,  Coordinating Principal, Lyceum International, distributed. the awards”
