Lyceum players shine at Carlton Trophy

Lyceum Nugegoda performed well at the All-Island Schools under-14 Basketball Tournament for the Carlton Trophy recently. The Lyceum girls’ team emerged champions out of 18 girls’ teams that participated in the tournament and the final which was witnessed by a very large crowd was played on 28 September, 2013 at Henry Pedris Park between St. Anthony’s College Kandy and Lyceum International School Nugegoda.

After a very entertaining game, Nugegoda Lyceum Girls emerged Champions beating St. Anthony’s with 29 points to 14. In the boys’ tournament, 36 schools participated and the Lyceum Nugegoda boys’ team played in the finals against Royal College, Colombo and emerged runners up. The final was a very exciting game and Royal managed to win by two points with the final score 24 to 22.
