Former Lankan skipper Mahela Jayawardena kicked off his 2013 IPL season with a power packed 66 for his Delhi Daredevils team against Kolkata Knight Riders though ending up in the losing side.

Captain Mahela’s 52-ball innings included one six and eight 4s and helped DD to a score of 128 off the 20 overs in the opening match of 2013 IPL. Other top scorer for DD was Australia’s David Warner who chipped in with 21. KKR’s Bret Lee took 2 for 40 whilst West Indies S.P. Narine took 4 for 13 thereby curtailing the DD.
