Marathwada Mitra Mandal College of Commerce (MMCC), Pune came through a trial of fire and water to win the India national qualifiers for the first time. With 96 teams from 24 cities battling it out fiercely to represent the country, MMCC ran a tight game plan to beat the other teams to the finals, losing just one match to Sacred Heart College, Cochin this season.
MMCC took on their arch rivals Rizvi College, Mumbai in a rain interrupted game which was reduced to 5 overs per side. MMCC swiftly reached their set target of 56 runs in a close 4.4 overs and beat Rizvi College, Mumbai to come on top by showing that they can handle pressure!
Player to watch out for: Yash Nahar, Captain of MMCC, a talented batsman who clinched Player of the Tournament award by winning 03 Man of the Match awards including the semis and the finals for his 164 runs and 9 wickets.
