Marcel Groeniewald new addition to Kandy

By Shamseer Jaleel The Kandy line-up will feature one more South African, Marcel Groeniewald, who will be in the country today to join the team.

One of Kandy’s other South Africans Quinton Crocker will leave Sri Lanka due to family commitments. Groeniewald, who is from Pretoria, is a classic Number 8 who represented the Leopards in 2009. He made his Vodacom Cup debut in 2012 for the Leopards. The 24-year-old pack leader, who stands 1.88 metres tall and weighs 105 kilogrammes, will make his club debut for Kandy against CR&FC on 31 January.
