Medhira enters final in ITF U14 Championship 2013

Medhira Samarasinghe ranked first in Sri Lanka Girls team and seeded two in the championships and entered the final on the third day, beating Vietnam’s No. 2 ranked Nguyen Thuphuong 6-3, 6-1.  Earlier she defeated Cam Nhung (Vietnam) 4-2, 4-0 and Al Olifi (Yemen) 7-6, 6-0.

She will be meeting Vietnam and compete top seed Tiffany Liun in the finals on Saturday. For ITF Under14 Asian Division 2 Tennis Championship held in Vietnam - Sri Lanka is fielding 3 girls and 3 boys.

Other countries taking part in the competition are Singapore, Bhutan, Pakistan, Iran, Maldives, Yemen, UAE, Indonesia and host Vietnam along with touring ITF contingent.
