A blistering knock of 42 runs of 20 balls by in-form Lahiru Udara and a patient skipper’s knock from Rangeeth Peiris of 44-not-out saw TJ through to the semi-final, beating DIMO by two wickets with eight balls to spare in a thrilling encounter under fading lights at the Oval grounds.
The match was reduced down to 20 overs due to wet ground conditions. Batting first after winning the toss DIMO scored 140 runs in 20 overs Nipun Karunarathna scoring 71 runs of 45 balls. In reply Textured Jersey PLC got in to blistering start scoring 85 runs at the halfway mark thanks to Lahiru Udara. The DIMO spinners were picking quick wickets, however Textured Jersey PLC held their nerve to cross the line with Rangeeth Peiris leading the way.
Textured Jersey PLC will play Linea Aqua at the semi-final on Saturday.
