Mercantile Rugby Sevens on 21 July

The Mercantile Rugby Football Association (MRFA), in preparation for the 47th Mercantile Rugby Sevens 2017, coming up on 21, 22 and 23 July at the Race Course International Rugby Football Stadium, is taking its first step by calling for captains and secretaries of all prospective teams for a briefing in order to explain the intricate details and the new format of the tournament.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 5 July 6.30 p.m. at the CR&FC Pavilion PDR.  

It will be chaired by Tournament Committee Chairman Romesh de Livera.

To explain in detail, the dos and don’ts and the new rules, the MRFA has invited Dinka Peiris from the Sri Lanka Society of Rugby Football Referees, whose referees will officiate on all three days of the tournament. 

It is imperative that the captains and the secretaries of the prospective teams attend this meeting, which will ensure the teams are well educated on all matters pertaining to the tournament.
