Mercantile Rugby Sevens Special Awards

The 41st edition of the Mercantile Rugby Sevens was held at the CR & FC Grounds from 18th to 20th November in front of a capacity crowd.

More than 400 participants from 42 leading mercantile firms participated in the tournament sponsored by Dialog TV and organized by Mercantile Rugby Football Association MRFA.

The Cup for the second successive year was won by MAS Holdings “A” who beat the debutants Nation Lanka Finance 20 points to 14 in a ding dong battle.

The Chief Guest was Nushad Perera Group Chief Marketing Officer Dialog TV. The Media assistance provided by Office Network (PVT) Ltd, distributors for Brother Office Automation products in Sri Lanka,

Referees from the Rugby Society of the SLRFU did a Commendable job during the three day tournament. After the award ceremony a fire work display was held.

The final was handled by P. Gunaratne (Referee) All special award winners were presented D.T.V. Connections by Dialog.
