Micro Holdings through to pre-quarterfinals in MCA tournament

Micro Holdings recorded another emphatic win over Nor Lanka Shipping in their final match of the first round, ending unbeaten with three wins while two of their matches were called off due to bad weather. 

Batting first, Nor Lanka scored 174 for 7 in 25 overs. Anushka Polonowita with 2 for 19 and Sameera Wickramasinghe 2 for 30 were among the wickets for Micro Holdings.

Chasing a target of 175 to win, Shanavaz Jamal scored a magnificent 102 not out with 4 sixes and 14 fours, being the second centurion for this season for Micro. He was involved in a quick-fire 78-run opening partnership off 59 balls with Channa Edirisinghe, who scored 29 off 25 balls which included 2 sixes and 2 fours which set up the chase for Micro Holdings. 

Micro Holdings ended up getting 176 for 4 in 22.5 overs, winning the game by six wickets. They are now through to the pre-quarterfinals of the ongoing MCA ‘G’ Division 25-over League Tournament 2017, sponsored by Stafford Motor Ltd, for the 7th Honda Trophy.
