MillenniumIT wins Mercantile badminton championship

MillenniumIT emerged champions at the recently concluded Mercantile Badminton Tournament. Participating for the second time, the MillenniumIT badminton team won the Men’s Division G2 Championship trophy and the Women’s Division D Championship Trophy. Led by Dharshin; Dhammika, Nadith and Nuwan make up the men’s A-team while Marina and Hashini the women’s A-team.

The men’s team emerged unbeaten champions in the Division G2 and the women’s team, also unbeaten, in the Division D, with Hashini and Nadith selected as the best players in their respective divisions. MillenniumIT won against Assetline Group, Dialog Axiata, HNB Sport, CIC Holdings and John Keels. Meanwhile, the MillenniumIT men’s B team achieved 3rd place in the H1 Division. “We are so proud of our team and how much we’ve achieved since entering the tournament just last year. Our team put in a tremendous effort and we are thrilled as to how well it’s paid off,” said Dhammika Gunaratne. “We would like to thank the management of MillenniumIT for giving us this opportunity and for supporting us throughout the tournament.”
