Isipathana College and Royal College who were to play the final on 9 July at the Royal Sports Complex, later on postponed to 16 July will now lock horns at the Race Course on 13 July.

The final date change was agreed by Isipathana after lodging a protest insisting that some of their players are under training camp for the Under 18 sevens tour of Hong Kong later this month. Earlier the Thomians too protested to the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SLSRFA) but no action was taken by the authority who showed their amateur experience in organising events continued in tandem. This gave an undue advantage for the Royalists who had the advantage playing at home. Most of the year’s events organised by SLSRFA ended in wrong books. The Rugby fraternity in the country feels its high time to move even the schools rugby under the wing of the governing body of rugby the Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union (SLRFU)
