The Mobil Racing Team emerged team champions at the 25th edition of the prestigious Fox Hill Supercross held at the Sri Lanka Military Academy track in Diyatalawa over the weekend.

Mobil brand ambassador Dinesh Jayawardana finished second in the final of the SLGT Cars up to 3500cc event, which is regarded as the fastest and most popular event of the Fox Hill itinerary.DFT-19-7

In the first heat, Jayawardana started in third position but was patient and consistent which helped him to eventually finish second behind Ashan Silva. The final round of the highly competitive event was also the fastest of the day with the best drivers of the country vying for top honors.

Jayawardana who started the race from third on the grid had a brilliant start which saw him go past Sajaad Zuhair straight away to secure 2nd in the very first lap. Thereafter it was smooth sailing for Jayawardana as he did what he does best, drive consistently with no pressure being brought upon himself. Dinesh eventually finished in 2nd place comfortably behind Ashan Silva who went onto win both races and be crowned Super Fox for 2017.

In the SLH Cars up to 1618cc event, Shehara Jayawardana was comfortably hanging onto third position, but unfortunately was caught off guard and ended up losing her position and eventually finished 3rd Runner up. Young Kushan Peries went on to win this event.

Dinesh and Shehara’s collective efforts earned Mobil Racing the team championship of the Silver Jubilee edition of the most popular motor racing event of the country and capped off a great weekend of racing overall for the Mobil Brand Ambassadors.
