The National Mobile Service Provider, Mobitel, for the third successive year came forward as a co-sponsor of the Southern Monsoon Rally 2012.
Organised by the Southern Motor Sports Club (SMSC) for the fourteenth year, the Rally will be held on the 22 and 23 September this year.
The only annual TSD (Time-Speed-Distance) type of rally held in Sri Lanka, the Southern Monsoon Rally, which will travel over a 
distance of approximately 600km, is being conducted under six categories: Non-Rally Prepared Standard Vehicles (Group NRP), Rally Prepared Modified Vehicles (Group RP), Veterans (Group “V”), Novices (Group “N”) Only For Members of Southern Motor Sports Club and Young Southern Motor Sports Club, Rally Prepared/Non Rally Prepared Trucks and Jeeps (Group T) and Team Entries.
