Mobitel women’s basketball team crowned champions

The national mobile communications service provider, Mobitel’s women’s basketball team became the champions in the Basketball B Division Tournament after winning the finals against HSBC in the Mercantile Knockout Basketball Tournament 2012 which was held recently at Otters Aquatic Club.

The Mobitel team led in all four quarters of the game which resulted in the final score being 61 - 54. All team members put in an outstanding performance while the captain Gayani Wijesiri and the vice captain Prabhanthi Rupasinghe scored 28 and 18 respectively for the team. The team was coached by Gerald Jacobs.
